Paul Tilch

Head Varsity Coach


 

     Growing up he played his Squirt through Midget years with the Washington Little Capitals. During high school, Tilch played for the Junior Capitals Jr. B team, while attending Gonzaga College High School in Washington D.C. As a member of their Varsity program he was named to the First Team All-Met for the Washington Post.
     Tilch attended the University of Delaware, where he played four years of Division 1 ACHA hockey. Delaware finished each of their four seasons in the top ten and runner-up to Penn State for the National Title in 2000-01 seasons. Two consecutive seasons, Tilch was voted All-American for the ACHA. He was captain three years and finished his college career with 103 total points, which placed him third on the all-time defensive scoring list at Delaware.
     Coach Tilch was named the Washington Post’s All-Met Coach of the Year for the 2004-05 season for leading Gonzaga to its first ever MSHL title and Head Coach for Team Southeast, which represents this area in the Chicago Showcase. As Head Coach of Team Southeast Tilch led his team to their best performance ever. Team Southeast won their bracket, and advanced to the playoff round where they faced eventual showcase winners, Team Minnesota.

     Coach Tilch is entering his sixth season as Head Coach of the Gonzaga Eagles and first season as  Head Coach of the Junior Capitals . The Capitals play in the Metro Junior Hockey League. Last season Coach Tilch guided the Gonzaga Varsity program to its second MSHL Championship with a 6-4 win over MIAA powerhouse Mount Saint Joseph's High School. He was named the Washington Post’s All-Met Coach of the Year for the 2004-05 season and Head Coach for Team Southeast, which represents this area in the Chicago Showcase. As Head Coach of Team Southeast Tilch led his team to their best performance ever. Team Southeast won their bracket, and advanced to the playoff round where they faced eventual showcase winners, Team Minnesota.

Ben Andreas

Assistant Varsity Coach


     Coach Andreas is entering his sixth season with the Eagles.  He grew up in the Washington, DC area playing hockey for Montgomery and the Washington Little Capitals.  While attending high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel Coach Andreas also played for the Washington Junior Capitals Junior team. While in high school Coach Andreas was a multiple All-Met selection, 4 year co-MVP and Co-Captain of the Varsity for 3 years.

     Ben Andreas played four years of NCAA division II hockey in the ECAC Northeast division. He played his freshman year at Roger Williams University before transferring  to Stonehill College his sophomore year where he received his degree. While at Stonehill Coach Andreas was the recipient of the 1999-2000 season Coaches Award, as well as the President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and a NCAA Division II Athletic Committee Board Member from 99-01.

     Coach Andreas is currently a Sr. Technical Consultant for RSA, the Security Division of EMC where he works in the federal sales division.

Ryan Holley

Graduate Assistant Varsity Coach


Holley, who graduated last year from Gonzaga, was a valuable part of the Eagles success on the ice. In his four seasons as an Eagle, Holley recorded 73 points and was captain of the 2006 and 2007 Championship squads. Currently, Holley is still playing for the Washington Junior Nationals and he will go onto a college program next season.

 

Tim Bodenheimer

Graduate Assistant Varsity Coach


Bodenheimer, is also a member of the Washington Junior Nationals and joins the Gonzaga coaching staff this season. As a member of the Eagles, Bodenheimer was a steady defenseman and helped carry Gonzaga to two consecutive titles as a player. Bodenheimer will also attend college next year and play at a high level of hockey.
